About the course
The IADC Comics course/module was developed to provide students with essential techniques and fundamentals for those passionate about sequential art.
Divided into 6 modules, students will learn the concepts of visual language from comics, application of concepts in creative activities, new language structures and the correct use of black and white, illustration and its concepts and application and creative activities in other media platforms and the making of comics on the conventional and digital platform as well as its colorization.
Course Objectives
The course/module Comics will provide the student with the opportunity to develop the analysis of the drawing from its sketch by geometric structures to the finish, which can be: with graphite, India ink, painted or mixed art.
During the modular period of the course, the student will acquire the ability to create illustrations with a three-dimensional effect on various types of support, perspective techniques and applied light and shadow, thus enabling the creation of scenes, characters, people, objects.

Have completed the Basic Design course/module;
Dedication, enthusiasm and passion for the art of comics;
Enjoy reading and practising.

Module I - Comics-Fundamentals
Types of Balloons;
lettering;
Creation of Onomatopoeias;
Construction of Titles;
Bromide and Decorated;
Recognition and application of Focal Points;
Use of Pictorial Plans;
Use of the Reading Line;
Character building styles and their constituents (caricature and realistic);
Introduction to Artwork (Feather, Brush and Pen);
Color Guide;
Production of a Comic Book.
Module II - Comics-Development
Screenplay Conception;
Character construction styles and their constituents (realistic, manga, caricature, among others);
Character Development: Model Sheet;
Character Development: Psychological Profile;
Character Development: Registration;
Illustration Techniques and Painted Art;
Production of Pin-ups;
Making a Comic Book.
Module III - Impact Comics
Construction of Scenarios;
Draping;
Anatomy (unconventional rotation and poses);
silhouettes;
Artwork: Advanced use (Feather, Brush and Pen);
Special effects with ink.
Production of a Comic Book.
Module IV - Comics-Illustration
Illustration Techniques in Color and Black and White;
Development of color and black and white Pin-ups;
Development of color and black and white covers;
Creation and development of a comic book.
Module V - Comics-Graphic Projects
Color and Black and White Illustration Techniques on other media platforms;
Creation and construction of Comic Strips;
Cartoon Development;
Charge creation;
Creation of cooperative characters/mascots;
Textbook illustration;
Children's Book Illustration;
Creation, rotation and finishing (artwork and color) of the main types of animals, in different styles;
Creation and development of a comic book.
Module VI - Comics-Digital Painting
Correct use of the scanner;
Vector Illustration;
Development of an aesthetic look at the digital environment;
Pre-production: idea generation, technique alternative and rough;
Production: creation processes, techniques and tools through software;
Finalization and closing of digital files;
Creation of illustration style and technique;
Drawing Tool;
